Death and Reported Roles

Death: Mustafa Khader Bahr (مصطفى خضر بحر) was reportedly killed on March 30, 2024, in an Israeli airstrike near the Kuwaiti Roundabout, southeast of Gaza City center along Salah al-Din Street.
Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)
identified Mustafa Bahr as an online reporter and co-founder of the Palestine Breaking News website, a digital news portal.
Militant Affiliation: Following Mustafa’s death, his brother Ateya posted a notice on social media acknowledging him as a militant fighter. The official channel for the Tawhid Brigade (Liwa al-Tawhid) published an obituary for Mustafa Khader Bahr, recognizing him as the military commander of the Tawhid Brigade’s special forces unit (formerly affiliated with the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committees) and a member of the military council in the northern Gaza Strip.

Note 1: One of Mustafa Bahr’s brothers, Abdurahman Khader Bahr (عبد الرحمن خضر بحر), who also worked for the Palestine Breaking News portal and is alleged to have been a combatant, was killed on October 6, 2024.

Note 2: Two of Mustafa’s brothers, Ahmed Khader Bahr (احمد خضر بحر) and Mahmoud Bahr (محمود بحر), were militant operatives of the Al-Qassam Brigades, killed in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
