Hilal Yassine is a Lebanese-Australian entrepreneur and business executive. He serves as the Group Managing Director of the private equity firm First Quay Capital and is a director at Salaam Wealth, which provides Shariah-compliant wealth creation products. Additionally, Yassine is a director and board member of Islamophobia Register Australia.
Notably, in March 2024, Islamophobia Register Australia received a grant of AUD 1,100,000 from the Australian government’s Department of Home Affairs to support Palestinian-Australian, Muslim, and other communities affected by the Israel-Palestine conflict.
A review of Yassine’s activity on LinkedIn revealed a troubling pattern of biased and inflammatory messages. Many of his posts disseminate false antisemitic propaganda that links the most egregious aspects of Western history over the past century—such as Nazism, racism, and colonialism—to the State of Israel. Furthermore, drawing parallels between Israel’s actions in Gaza and the Holocaust is deeply offensive to Jews and is classified as antisemitic under the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
We believe that Hilal Yassine should not be permitted to hold any public-facing position, and that Islamophobia Register Australia must relieve him of his duties. Additionally, their funding should be reviewed, and an investigation should be conducted into potential anti-Israel bias and antisemitism.

The review of Hilal Yassine’s activity on LinkedIn has also uncovered alarming posts that promote dangerous antisemitic narratives, including:
- Deceptive conspiracies and fake news aimed at demonizing Jews and delegitimizing Israel.
- A modern iteration of the age-old vile blood libel, falsely accusing Israel of intentionally killing Palestinian children.
Yassine also refers to “Zionists” as white European racial supremacists and describes Palestinians as “brown.” This constant emphasis on race is concerning.
It also seems that Yassine believes that the Nazis were ‘right’ about the Jews.

Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson exposed Hilal Yassine on air for sharing his disgraceful antisemitic views on LinkedIn. She skillfully articulated why we believe that the Islamophobia Register should remove him from their board and why the Australian government needs to conduct a full investigation into their AUD 1 million funding of that organization. Sky News reached out for comments, but to our knowledge, none were provided. Since then, they have deleted the Board Members page from their website. Furthermore, Yassine has changed his LinkedIn profile.
