Background information
Dr. Rebecca Ellen Jones is a registered general practitioner with the UK General Medical Council and blogs as the Vegan Doctor. She currently serves at Hilly Fields Medical Centre, part of The Lewisham Care Partnership (TLCP). Dr. Jones is also a Green Party councillor candidate in Blackheath in the London Borough of Lewisham for the 2026 local elections.
Andrew Gilligan of The Spectator exposed Dr. Jones as an extremist who holds antisemitic views. However, our review of her social media output found additional red flags, including support for Palestine Action, a proscribed terrorist organisation, and highly offensive anti-Jewish content.
Dr. Rebecca Jones shares posts that mock the victims of the 7 October massacre of Jews by Palestinian terrorists and appear to justify those crimes. She also draws comparisons between Jews and Israel to Nazis. Under the IHRA definition, this is antisemitism, meant to distress Jews and misrepresent the Holocaust.
Dr. Jones has posted that Israel is “using infectious diseases to help their genocidal onslaught” and that “They’re burning babies again.” Both claims are false and highly misleading, especially coming from a registered doctor. In fact, Israel agreed to a humanitarian pause in the war against Hamas so that 640,000 Palestinian children could be vaccinated against polio. There is no evidence that Israel is deliberately “burning babies.” These claims resemble medieval antisemitic tropes, which wrongly blamed Jews for the murder of children to use their blood in religious rituals.
She has also said that “Nazis and pro-genociders,” allegedly referring to Israelis, Zionists, and Jews who support Israel, “shouldn’t feel safe anywhere.”
We have serious concerns about Dr. Rebecca Ellen Jones’ suitability to practice medicine. We urge readers to file a complaint about her conduct with her employer, The Lewisham Care Partnership, and to report her to the General Medical Council.
