Death and Reported Roles

  • Death: Hossam Saleh Al-Adlouni (حسام صالح العدلوني) was killed on July 13, 2025, reportedly as a result of an airstrike on a tent in the Al-Qarara area, north of Khan Yunis.
  • Journalistic Association: The Palestinian Journalist Protection Center (مركز حماية الصحفيين الفلسطينيين) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) described Hossam Al-Adlouni as an independent photojournalist, while the Palestinian Information Center (PIC), widely recognized as a Hamas-affiliated media outlet, identified him as a journalist. The IFJ also stated that Al-Adlouni worked for several Arab and international media outlets.
  • Militant Affiliation: The Qassam Martyrs channel on Telegram posted a notice announcing Hossam Al-Adlouni’s death, referring to him as the commander in the Khan Yunis Brigade (the armed wing of Hamas). Additionally, his brother, Belal, shared a video tribute that included footage of Hossam in Qassam Brigades military fatigues.

Update (June 2, 2026): The Hamas-affiliated Telegram channel Aqmar Tofan (“Moons of the Flood,” أقمار الطوفان), which commemorates Al-Qassam militants killed during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” (Tufan al-Aqsa), published an obituary confirming that Hossam Al-Adlouni served as a field commander in the Military Media Department of the Khan Younis Brigade.

Update (June 23, 2026): The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades’ Military Media Department now lists Hossam Saleh Al-Adlouni on its “martyrs” page.
