Ahmed Alnaouq, a Gazan residing in London, is the co-founder and director of UK based company We Are Not Numbers, a project under the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor (EMHRM). According to concrete evidence uncovered in our research, he also serves as the media officer at the Palestinian mission to the UK.
In addition to his role at the mission, Alnaouq acts as the advocacy and outreach officer for EMHRM. Furthermore, he produces inflammatory content and hosts a podcast for Palestine Deep Dive, a notoriously biased platform which has also been criticised for promoting antisemitic propaganda. Recently, he has begun soliciting donations for this media outlet.
Israel alleges that EMHRM has ties to Hamas. Our findings reveal that the organisation’s founder and current Chairman, accused of being one of Hamas’ “key operatives” in Europe, is listed on the Terror Organization Designation List. In 2020, the Israeli Defense Minister signed an administrative seizure order against him. Additionally, it has come to light that Alnaouq’s immediate family members have been involved with the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas.
Ahmed Alnaouq uses social media to spread antisemitic narratives and promote terrorist propaganda. His posts include disturbing content that inverts the Holocaust and draws parallels to Nazi ideology, while he consistently advocates for the eradication of Zionism and Israel. Additionally, he participates in protests organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), where he is known to chant the antisemitic slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Alnaouq Family Hamas Links
Ahmed’s brother, Ayman Alnaouq, joined Hamas in 2006, pledged allegiance to the movement in 2010, and became a member of Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, in 2013. Ayman was killed by the IDF during Operation Protective Edge in July 2014, alongside a group of Al-Qassam militants. In December 2014, Ahmed Alnaouq published an essay that downplayed his brother’s terrorist history. This article served as the inspiration for the establishment of “We Are Not Numbers.”
Another brother, Muhammad Alnaouq, was head of the Department of Holy Qur’an at Hamas’ Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs. Muhmmad shared posts glorifying and justifying the Hamas-led terror attack on October 7. He also encouraged Palestinians in PA-controlled territories, Israeli Arabs, and neighboring Arab countries to participate in the attacks to “liberate Palestine.”
In October 2023, a post by Ahmed Alnaouq on X seemingly justified the heinous acts committed by Hamas. Similarly, his brother Mahmoud, a former employee of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, expressed comparable sentiments. Their sister, Aya, publicly celebrated the attacks.
Whitewashing Terrorism
During our investigation into Ahmed Alnaouq’s social media activity, we came across several additional posts that demonised and delegitimised Israel while whitewashing Palestinian terrorism.
Promoting Antisemitism
Given the serious implications of Ahmed Alnaouq’s statements, and his possible links to the proscribed terror organisation Hamas, we urge UK immigration authorities to take immediate action to assess the situation and consider the removal of this individual from our country.
