Wasim Haq resigned as a member of the Football Association council following antisemitic post

Wasim Haq is Managing Partner at First Team Partners, an executive search and selection firm. Wasim is also a well-known public figure. He is a Senior Independent Director at the English Golf Union Board. Until very recently, Wasim was a nominated Council Member at The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), a Council Member, and Observing Board Member at The Football Association (FA) Inclusion Advisory Board, and a Board Nominations Committee Member at the FA.

On November 12, we exposed Wasim Haq’s vile antisemitic “Adolf Hitler would be proud of Benjamin Netanyahu” post.

On November 13, Wasim Haq deleted the post only after The Telegraph featured it and The FA and the LTA started making inquiries. He also issued an unsatisfactory “apology”. For someone who is a diversity representative, he should know that the post in question wasn’t just offensive, as he suggests, but highly antisemitic.

On the same day, The Telegraph reported that The LTA removed Wasim Haq from his role as Independent Board Member citing the “unacceptable” post comparing Netanyahu to Hitler (Yimakh shemo). The FA suspended him pending the outcome of an investigation into his highly antisemitic post.

On November 23, Wasim Haq resigned from The FA while still under investigation.
