Death and Reported Roles
- Death: Ahmad Yousef Abu Sharia (أحمد يوسف ابو شريعه) was killed on November 19, 2024, allegedly by targeted Israeli artillery shelling of his home in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.
- Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) identified Ahmad Abu Sharia as an editor and freelance photographer and claimed that he worked for several media outlets, including Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
- Militant Affiliation: The official Telegram channel of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement (PMM), Darebmojahden (درب المجاهدين, meaning ‘Path of the Mujahideen’), posted an official poster of the ‘Moudjahideen Brigades,’ the armed wing of the PMM, presenting Ahmad Yousef Abu Sharia as a mujahid—a fighter engaged in jihad—and a field commander.
