  • Death: Ahmed Naeem Hussein Badir (أحمد نعيم حسين بدير) died on January 10, 2024, reportedly from shrapnel inflicted by an alleged Israeli airstrike that struck a house in Deir al-Balah.
  • Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) identified Ahmed Badir as a journalist for Bawabat al-Hadaf (بوابة الهدف الإخبارية, “The Al-Hadaf News Portal”), a Gaza-based news website recognized as the official media outlet of the terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). UNESCO published a letter from Mounir Anastas, the Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the State of Palestine to UNESCO, listing Ahmed Badir as a press editor and journalist casualty and accusing the ‘Israeli occupying army’ of ‘deliberately targeting journalists with no constraints or consequences.’
  • Militant Affiliation: The Central Military Media Department of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the PFLP, published an obituary mourning the death of their comrade, fighter Ahmed Badir.
