Death and Reported Roles
- Death: Amr Nahed Abdel Rahman Abu Odeh (عمرو ناهض عبد الرحمن أبو عوده) was killed on October 31, 2024, reportedly as a result of a targeted drone strike in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.
- Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists identified Amr Abu Odeh as a freelance photographer who also worked for the Turkish Anadolu Agency and with Reuters, while the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) described him as a journalist.
- Militant Affiliation: In a Facebook post announcing his death, Amr Nahed Abu Odeh was hailed as one of the heroes of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and recognized as a fighter in the Beit Hanoun Battalion.
Note: Amr’s father, Nahed Abo Odeh, a commander and one of the founders of the Qassam Brigades in Beit Hanoun, was killed by the Israeli Defense Forces in 2004.
