Mohammed Salah Adnan Al-Rantisi (محمد صلاح عدنان الرنتيسي)
Technologist, Android application developer, and video producer | Khan Yunis, Gaza
Death and Reported Roles
- Death: Mohammed Salah Adnan Al-Rantisi (محمد صلاح عدنان الرنتيسي) was killed on January 22, 2024 (some sources report January 28, 2024), reportedly in a targeted Israeli airstrike in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
- Journalistic Association: The Institute for Palestine Studies’ Shereen Abu Akleh’s platform for documenting the targeting of media and journalism falsely described Mohammed Salah al-Rantisi as a media professional, technician, and producer. Similarly, Beirut-based SKeyes Center for the Defense of Media and Cultural Freedoms (Samir Kassir Foundation) “incorrectly” identified him as a freelance journalist. However, contrary to these claims, his bio on social media states that he is a technician, Android application developer, and video editor, and that he is interested in the world of technology and smartphones.
- Militant Affiliation: Tributes and eulogies acknowledge Mohammed Salah al-Rantisi as a fighter and “one of the young heroes of Al-Qassam’s military media.”
Update (June 23, 2026): The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades’ Military Media Department now lists Mohammed Salah Adnan Al-Rantisi on its “martyrs” page.
Note: Mohammed Salah al-Rantisi is the nephew of Abdelaziz al-Rantisi, the co-founder of Hamas.
