- Death: Muhammad Al-Sayyed Ismail Abu Skheil (محمد السيد إسماعيل أبو سخيل) was killed on March 18, 2024 (some sources report March 28, 2024), reportedly by Israeli Defense Forces fire during a raid at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.
- Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) identified Muhammad Abu Skheil as a broadcaster and editor for Sawt Al Quds Radio (إذاعة صوت القدس), which is widely recognized as the official radio outlet of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Gaza. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) uncritically repeated the claim.
- Militant Affiliation: Tributes and eulogies by social media platform Wayastabshirun (وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ)—a word that appears most prominently in Surah Al Imran (3:170), where it describes the state of martyrs in the afterlife—along with his family members, described Muhammad Abu Skheil as a hero fighter and portrayed him in military fatigues associated with the Al-Quds Brigades (the armed wing of PIJ).
Note: Muhammad was killed alongside his brother, Tariq Al-Sayyed Ismail Abu Skheil “Abu Jaafar” (“طارق السيد اسماعيل ابو سخيل “ابو جعفر), who worked as the head of electronic media for the same Voice of Al-Quds Radio station.
