- Death: Abdel Rahman Samir Abdel Fattah Al-Tanani (عبد الرحمن سمير عبد الفتاح الطناني) was killed on October 18, 2023, reportedly as a result of a targeted airstrike on his father’s home in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
- Journalistic Association: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Institute for Palestine Studies’ Shireen Abu Akleh’s platform for documenting alleged attacks on journalists identified Abdel Rahman Al-Tanani as a journalist and social media publisher for Gaza-based Zaman FM. Open-source information indicates that he also worked for Sawt el-Shaab (صوت الشعب, “Voice of the People”), a radio station in Gaza City affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Additionally, he was a founding member of the Taqadomi (تقدم, “Progress”) revolutionary media network.
- Militant Affiliation: Abdel Rahman Al-Tanani was an active militant member of the PFLP. He was killed alongside his brother, Abdel Fattah Samir Abdel Fattah Al-Tanani (عبد الفتاح سمير عبد الفتاح الطناني), who was a fighter and commander in the Military Media Department of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the military wing of the PFLP.
